Enable Portable Mode

Portable mode allows you to run WhatPulse from a portable hard drive or USB flash drive, take that portable drive with you and run WhatPulse on computers where it is not installed. This has the benefit of not having to install WhatPulse, which requires administrative rights.

Keep in mind that if Npcap is not installed on Windows, network traffic stats won't work.

To use portable mode, first install the WhatPulse client to your portable HDD or USB flash drive, open the client, authenticate with the WhatPulse website, and then go to the Settings tab. Click the Advanced Actions button and finally, click the Enable portable mode action in the drop down menu.

Enabling Portable Mode

A confirmation window will pop up, click Yes there. You've now enabled portable mode!

After enabling portable mode, your database will be saved on the USB flash drive, so you can take WhatPulse with you on the go.

Disabling Portable Mode

To disable portable mode, you can use the Disable portable mode button in the Advanced Actions drop down.
